In-house testing has (finally) completed for the TransWarp GS v1.1 project. We ran in to some issues with GAL stock and it really took a long time to perform a sanity check. Seems these ICs are sometimes “faked” with clone ICs or relabelled and sold as faster versions. Lattice no longer produces the part, so finding known authentic stock is arduous at best. After weeding out some bad GAL stock all ten sample boards seem rock solid and the production order of boards is the final step after some real-world testing.
We would like to make a call to eight “power users” who preordered the TransWarp to step up and assist with field tests. These would be users who are willing to take receipt of their order and actually use the board and report back any feedback or issues. Users who have time for testing as soon as the board arrives. ReActiveMicro’s Support will work with you and explain how tests can be performed besides the normal running of games and programs. To be considered for delivery of a TransWarp GS v1.1 please email Support. Everyone else keep an eye on your inbox for an update from the ReActiveMicro Store for when your board ships in the coming month.
This final round of field testing will prove our belief that all is working correctly with the project over a broad assortment of systems, and the production order of boards can be delivered when they arrive. Estimated time is now about 40 days. We apologize for the delay with delivery, and appreciate your patience and understanding. The goal with all our projects are to make stable boards, not just release boards to fill orders. And big thanks to everyone for their support of this project!
